So I made this candied jalapeno recipe. Followed the directions exactly as written.

They came out EXTREMELY hot. I've had candied jalapenos before and generally they are more sweet that hot.
I think perhaps I should have removed the seeds and membranes, even though it wasn't stated in the recipe.
I now how over 3 lbs of candied jalapenos that are way too hot for my taste.
Will the heat mellow over time? Is there anything I can do to cut the heat at this point?
